Eastern 1961 was established by Mr. Goh Hong Choon. In its early days, the company’s business activities revolved around second-hand car dealerships and providing loans for vehicle purchases.
Mr. Willie Goh, the second son of Mr. Goh Hong Choon, left the Port of Singapore Authority (PSA), where he had worked as a reefer technician for six years. He then offered his reefer machinery services to Container Depots under the same company name.
